The limits of conventional Bluetooth detection techniques are discussed in this video by CTO Dr. Brett Walkenhorst. These techniques frequently overlook devices after they connect to one another because of channel hopping. The Bastille solution uses a wide spectrum strategy to record every Bluetooth action. Bastille is able to discover and identify specific devices thanks to unique IP, improving visibility and reducing dangers related to the entry of electronic devices in the wireless domain.

And and the final thing is this this idea of detecting Bluetooth. What happens with a lot of these sniffers is you're detecting Bluetooth packets and you have a sniffer like on the left. You've got forty forty channels, three of which are dedicated advertising channels. So what happens is you put your you put your receiver on one of the advertising channels to get the most information that you can.

But then when one of those devices connects to another device, they start hopping on the other thirty seven channels, and your detector misses all that. So once it connects, it disappears from your view. And that's bad because as you can imagine, we care much more about a device that is connected to another device than one that's not connected to anything because that's when the data exfiltration threat becomes real.

So on on the right, we have the Bastille solution, which is the vacuum cleaner approach to the spectrum. You take it all in, and then we have some IP where we've disambiguated and stitch together the individual devices so we can locate them and file that information away in our database.

So those are some of the key differentiators that will help us to bring visibility in the context of zero trust to the wireless domain and help mitigate the risk associated with the introduction of electronic devices.
