Bastille IP

Summary

Excerpt From Introduction to Wireless Threat Intelligence Webinar
CTO Dr. Brettt Walkenhorst On Bastille’s IP
Bastille has developed unique IP to locate devices and data traffic across all packet types, in contrast to other systems that can only detect certain control channel packets. As a result, we can offer exact location for any protocol, with one to three meter localization accuracy. In order to demonstrate this, Bastille’s all-encompassing approach is compared to the restricted detection capacity of other systems.

There's a lot going on under the hood. Of these sensors and the server applications behind them. But just to give you a couple of examples of some key differentiators, for best deals. So we've developed some IP that allows us to detect and individually locate cellular devices. And this is a very challenging thing to do.

So challenging system. Other systems that do a similar function At best, they can only really look for specific control channel packets. So a common one is a random access channel. And maybe a system can only see these rashes, random access channel, rach. And and that that rash may occur when a phone first registers on the network, when it, changes towers, when it does a hand off, when a phone initiates a phone call, it does this ratching, but allows it to access a traffic channel.

So the base station will allocate at traffic resources then. So if that's all we're looking for, then we're we're missing the vast majority of the traffic. So Vespula has created some IP that allows us to differentiate those, to discriminate them and then individually locate them. And we can do this on all of the packet types, not just control packets, but data traffic as well.

So the comparison is you get maybe a few dots on map to indicate there's there's some phone activity here compared to a ton of act over some period of time like you see on the right. And this localization is very accurate for all of the protocols. We see localization accuracies on the order of one to three meters.
